Interview with Valentina Cianci, Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Specialist at Bitron
Can you describe your role as a Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Specialist and how it contributes to the overall success of human resources in our company?
In my role as an HRIS Specialist, I support the Bitron Group in the digitalization and standardization of business processes within the HR area.
Due to the scale the Bitron Group has reached, it has become essential to implement a system that allows us to quickly manage all the data generated. To meet this need, we are implementing a new unified management system that collects and organizes a large amount of content, making it easily accessible.
In this way, all employees, depending on their role, will be able to retrieve information more efficiently thanks to standardized processes across all Bitron locations worldwide.
Describe your career and the path that led you to this role.
After graduating in Management Engineering, I started working as a consultant for the digitalization of corporate HR processes. Specifically, I gained solid experience as a Project Manager in the implementation of HR management systems, acting as the focal point between the offshore team and the customer. The role of consultant allowed me to face diverse situations, enriching me both personally and professionally.
How are the data and information you manage used to improve decision-making processes within the human resources department?
The Bitron Group is generating a large amount of business information daily. Timely management of business and strategy-oriented decision-making processes must be based on real and precise data. The need for fast and reliable IT systems is becoming crucial. Only in this way can we manage information in a standardized way, reducing decision-making times based on data analysis.
Are you passionate about your role? What would you change about your career path?
I have always been passionate about business digitalization, and since I applied these skills to HR processes, I realized that this is what I enjoy doing. Building a process from concrete needs to a system that makes a difference in colleagues' work is a great challenge and satisfaction.
Before implementing any changes, I believe it is essential to listen to colleagues' needs to understand what they need to improve their work. I would not change anything about my career path, except that I wish I had entered the HR world earlier, because it allows me to make a difference for the people in the company by meeting and listening to them, while still staying within the digitalization area.
